According to some people, you can call priority on Ignition effects, even when they are not Quick-Effects, before your opponent activates a Trap (i.e. BTH or Torrential Tribute). Problem is, I am still skeptical, since the Traps can be activated as soon as a monster is summoned and non-Quick-Effects are considered Spell Speed 1, and thus should not be as fast as, or faster than, Spell Speed 2.

Ignition effects are activated when a certain circumstance is met. Summong a monster does not start a chain, so your opponent cannot chain to it. They must respond. However, you may declare priority, and activate your card, which your opponent may then chain to. They are allowed to chain Bottomless Trap Hole to, say, the effect of Black Rose Dragon, because the last thing to resolve, was the summon of Black Rose Dragon. Bottomless will become Chain Link #2, and destroy and remove Black Rose, but, because Black Rose doesn't need to be face-up on the field for it's effect to resolve, it will destroy all cards on the field. Have fun!
